Beginningless Mind (cell signals)
In search of a sense of belonging through a shared reality, Beginningless Mind probes collective worldmaking.
The wall sculptures encompass edible offerings as their nuclei, to macro- or micro-dose imaginative realms and expand consciousness, commonly achievable through meditation, rituals and psychedelics.
The inclusion of the edibles (psychoactive confections) references trends in consuming hallucinogenics for recreational and therapeutic purposes, as well as devotional practices. The latter alludes to a gift economy as an alternative to dominant systems of value exchange - economic and affective - to disown utilitarian engagements as a social norm.
To transcend the limitations of verbal communication, Beginningless Mind observes the mind as embodied intelligence with permeable and pliable thresholds. A view of the body as a collective assemblage of social, material and unknowable multitudes, queers the nature-culture divide. Starting where we are, we can begin to refine our consciousness towards universal kinship.
